Today was the Palace Saloon 5K Run. This is by far the second biggest run I have attended, with the first being Springtime Tallahassee. There were 1,214 runners in today's race, and I placed 214 out of those 1,214 runners. My time was 23 minutes and 27 seconds. So far so good. My time slowly coming down. It is hard to believe that I use to run 27 minute 5K runs. Below are some pictures taken at the event (all near the finish line). The first was me within the last 1/2 mile of the run. The second picture is of Julie (the one with the Just Do It shirt). The final picture is of me coming upon the finish line. After the race we hung out at the saloon. They gave free beer and it was surprising how many people were drinking at 9:00 in the morning. This was by far my favorite race of the year.
With less then three months left, I finally registered Julie and myself for our Expedition Everest Challenge. The hardest part of the entire registration was coming up with a team name. After much deliberation, we went with KSE Crocodile Runners. The race beings at 8:30 p.m. on the 12th of June. Upon completing the challenge, you can attend an after party in which the keep some of the rides open. This lasts from 9:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. I still have to book my hotel and buy theme park tickets, but I am so excited about this race.
Day No. 36: This week I was completely wiped out from my trip to Orlando this week and took some time off from running. I realized that I needed to get back into the habit of running daily before I get too lazy. My pace was 8 minutes and 20 seconds per mile.
5 March 2010

Run Disney Project Total Miles: 133.0 Miles
Day No. 37: I completed today's run with a pace of 8 minutes and 20 seconds per mile. While I was running, I hurt my left ankle on something. I will take the weekend off and rest it. Hopefully this will be the last injury I have for a while.
